Question Shooting Head to running line

I'm looking for suggestions on the most effective way of PERMANENTLY joining a shooting head to running line.

The head is a Guideline Power Taper #9/10 Float/Clear tip int which I intend to use for Piking (it has a mono core by the looks of it). The running line is Guideline shooter 23kg.

I've tried a braid connection but wasn't really happy with the robustness of it as hopefully the join will be getting really tested in the near future!!

Over to you guys.....

dougie.i've had no probs with a permanent braid connection to my shooting heads. if you want details how i do it let me know.
but i to was using guideline shooting heads lastweek and i noticed some new ideas,1st idea was to fuse the braided loop into the end of the line with shrink tube.it looked very permanent.and the other was to do the airflo 40+ thing and crossover the running line and the head under the shrinktube and when heated they weld together, you then cut away the shrinktube.

Dougie there are a number of ways to do this but we all do things in difference ways so here is my way of doing it, below are some pictures of my lines and some Cortland leader Loop that you might want to look into.

Thanks for the suggestions Gents. Think I'll try the shrink tube method and see how that looks.
