Personally I regard these things as a joke to catch fly fishermen with .

Others hold the Snowbee version in some regard

Best wishes

Could you explain why you don't like these lines Steve?

I would personally say my Midge Tip line is my go to line when fishing Nymphs and I have far more success fishing this line than a floater, maybe it's just a confidence thing.

sorry forgot to say, I've been using the Snowbee buzzer line which has been great for the last season.

I have however just got may hands on one of the Pirates lines and will be giving it a good workout over the bank holiday weekend, I'll let you know what I think.

I've just dumped both my Rio lines, for the same reason and am using the Pirates sink tip.

They are superb lines, smooth and straight on the water with no hinging effect.

At any price they are excellent lines and at about £18.50 they just cannot be beaten.

I have the Rio and it is always my first choice of line. The memory is extremly bad and it is totally cracked, I have to say that it is a pain to fish with but does catch a lot of fish. This year I replaced it with a Snowbee Buzz but have been very disapointed, it casts lovely, has no memory but the tip just doesn't sink like the Rio. Total waste of money as I am now back useing the ****ed Rio. I have never used the Airflow but have heard good reports but not sure I want to waste any more money trying to replace an excellent fish catching line which may be a pain but I have confidence in.

Regards Richard

I've had a Snowbee & used it quite happily for a couple of seasons, only very light use mind. I've read that their finish is a trifle delicate though so longevity might not be their forte for extensive useage.

Have you tried a Poly-leader on the end of a floater, that works well & can give you a good degree of depth control by density/length/tippet choice etc.

I have been using a Teeny midge tip line from Pete Cockwill. It's not bad and I have caught a few nice fish with it, but it does seem to retain memory.

The slow sinking bit at the front is clear.
