Mrtrout is a jewel in the roughMrtrout is a jewel in the rough
Default A classic reel at a non classic price.

Just a heads up for anyone who may be interested.
I recently purchased the following reel, after a recommendation from a forum member, and have to say I am very impressed.
The quality of finish and the tolerances are excellent.
It would look wonderful on a cane set up, as well as a modern rod.
I am told by the seller, that a #4/5 3" model is imminent, also a 2 3/4" #3/4.
Several of my friends have bought one, and as far as I am aware they are also very pleased.
Yes produced in China, but what isn't these days.
I have no relationship whatsoever with the seller, other than being a very happy customer.

Very nice, and I almost got one some time back, but then I discovered that the "real" classic reels, e.g. Hardy Marquis/Viscount or Orvis Battenkill/CFO (both pawl check and disc drag) to name but a very few, Made in England and in good to great condition, can often be found cheaper. Still though, this is made of machined aluminium as opposed to die-cast.

Default I'll second

. . . . . . . . . what Steven said. I've got one too.
A fair price for a more than adequate reel, and one that I'm not afraid to get the odd scratch on.

Better than a scratch on the Bo or Hermann, right Brian?
