Default shooting head running line?

Hi
I'm going to have a go at making up my own shooting head for salmon.
is a 20lb braided mono running line going to be strong enough?
Thanks
SB

I am not sure but I think salmon lines use 30lb.

It's plenty strong enough - but when I asked about using a hollow braided mono as a running line I was warned that it can be brutally abrasive on the snakes....

Shooting Lines Powerflex Core

Stick with the 0.035" stuff.

20lb running line is NOT strong enough.

I like Airflo polyshoot. It has served me very well, comes in Salmon and Trout BS, and float or intermediate.
