Assuming you buy the rod from a Sage dealer you should be covered, as long as you return the card within the prescribed period (I assume this is the case for Sage too).
You may have to return the rod to Sage directly for warranty repair/replacement, though Gary Coxton seems to be very accommodating. Sage Australia brought out full page adverts in their FlyLife mag saying they wouldn't do any warranty service for rods not bought from their network.
