Default Greys GRXi+ fly rods, views and opinions?

Has anyone tried one of the new Greys GRXi+ rods? The original GRXi was excellent so hopefully these will be just as good, or even better. I like the look of the hybrid/cork handle.

I agree, the cosmetics do look pretty good for a rod of that price.

However, I'd be interested more in the blank, is it the same?

Had fun using the GRX but after trying the GRXi i realised they weren't for me.

Intrigued by the little 6 footer...not had a chance to try one yet but I've been looking for a brook rod so this might be just the job.

They look good i have to say ,but you will probably be able to pick up a Hardy Demon for around the same money now and i know from experience that they are a lovley rod to use ,i have the 10ft and 11ft #7 and like both of them

Not sure about Greys as several people at one fishery I frequent all bought Greys rods and they all snapped due to casting? Wanted to know if this is just a Friday rod batch or is it moe wide spread.

All the rods were bought from the one shop at about the same time and they all broke after only 3 or 4 uses, so possibly there was a flaw in the carbon used in that batch. Have never own a greys but have check them out and everybody thinks they are great and they appear to be really good value for money as far as spec is concerned.

The TF review on these rods (which I found on the Greys website) describes them as excellent casting tools and the #7-8 models may be the makings of a good boat rod. They appear to be slightly heavier than the original GRXi series however that's not important IMO, the 9ft 6" #7 weighs in at 127g if I read correctly.

I might order one from Grommit for my cuz at some point (who is just starting fly fishing), so we'll have to see...
