Default Greys GRXi versus Greys G-TEC 9'6" #7

Hi all, after getting back into flyfishing after a long absence I am now at the stage where I feel I want to upgrade my gear to help me further improve. The problem I'm having is deciding between the Greys GRXi and the Greys G-tec. I have been fortunate to use both and thought both where excellent rods with the G-tec coming out as the better of the two. I guess I'm after the thoughts of others that have owned/used these two rods as I can't decide between the two and want to be sure before I go spend the extra £150 on the G-tec. Any thoughts much appreciated.

The diffrence is sugar and sh1te , The grxi must be the worst rod greys made . Even the old grx is far superior .

Remember that the G-tec is in a completely different price range to the GRXi so in my opinion that is a rather unfair comparison, compared to some rods such as the Orvis Western 3 the GRXi is far better.

Do try out a few more rods, especially the Hardy Demon and the Greys X-flite. Grommit should be able to give you a good deal.

Sorry Steve, I disagree! The Greys GRXi range of fly rods is second to none as a tool for the purpose of fly fishing! They're a cracking rod!

I'd recommend you have a look at the hardy demon. Great offers on the 3 piece at the minute. They're well cheaper than the gtec now.

IMO the grxi is a great rod for the money. The only problem is with the build quality...

Fair play Mostyn . But then again woolies used to sell fly rods many years ago for the purpose of fly fishing Each to there own . If you have tried a 10 foot #7 grxi and the same size g-tec beleive me there is no comparison.
