Default Airflow 40+ rods

I am considering buying 40+ rod old model with single line rating £39.99 from fishtec.Am I right in believing 40+ lines are 1 size heavier than stated on the box, and therefore a 6 weight rod would match a weight forward 7 line thankyou

Hi John,
I have a couple of 40+ lines and they are basically like a shooting head with a heavy front section of about 30' and a thin shooting line. The head section is factory joined to the running line with a very smooth join there is no bump to catch in the rings. The distance you can cast with very little effort is unbelievable. It does what it says on the tin 35/40 yard casts are quite acheivable but they do tend to land in a bit of a heap if casting into the wind. Mine are W/F7 but they feel like casting a W/F8 I use mine on reservoirs for bank fishing well worth buying.
Cheers

Default 40+ rods

I cant help you on there line rating as the one I bought for my partner to fish with has not been used yet but for the money it feels a nice rod and has a good finish.. I cast a 7# one with the 40+ line and it flew.

Be very careful with 40+ lines. I have an''8'' weight on which the head [actually the first 34 feet] weighs 360 grains. That's a fag paper short of a 12 weight.

Thanks for the replies, I will probably get a 10ft 6 or 7 weight, nothing to lose at the price. It does not seem worthwhile buying any Airflow rods until they have been out about a year when they sell most of them at
About half price.
