Default advice please

The missus has loosened the purse strings and is allowing me to upgrade my rod

I've been looking at a sage launch 9ft #6 but have been told that they (sage rods in general) are 'under gunned' and need a line weight heavier to work them, would really appreciate any advice.

Cheers and bring on the guinness

I do believe she and her mother are planning a trip, so think she's trying to blindside me with a nice bit of kit!

I would try a Guideline Lpxe first. It's in your price range. Great rods for the money.
