Default Sight sticks

Saw this in an old trout Fisherman,
Take a cotton bud and cut off each end,,
Push in a cocktail stick, and secure with a little super glue to plug the ends,
This traps air and aids buoyancy,
Paint with white undercoat and when dry give a couple of coats of day-glo orange or yellow,
when dry give a couple of coats of Hard as Nails,
Secure to your leader with two float rubbers either end.
Because they are more streamlined they cast better and cause less surface disturbance when they land,
They also offer less resistance, enabling even the most subtle of takes to be spotted,
They are also easily seen in a gentle ripple as the line comes round in a arc because you are then viewing them side on.
Cheap and very effective,
Did anyone try them?
or if somebody does make and try them,
Could they put how they found them on the Forum.
Cheers Laurie.

You could just use the cocktail stick....

It sounds a bit like a float ?

Goodness me!!!

That's float fishing not fly fishing. Nothing wrong with float fishing if the fishery allows it but it isn't fly fishing...

I would say that if you are still using artificial flies as bait, then it is both float fishing and fly fishing.
