Default advice needed

I am looking for a fly rod for small still water trout fishing,I dont want to spend a great deal as it will only be occasional visits .I have a chance to buy a lureflash adder 9ft6 6-7wt at about £45.00 ,if anyone has tried or got any information about the rod id be grateful to hear it .cheers

maybe something abit lighter like a #5? i know still water trout can get quite big. let me know what u think maybe i can recommend u a rod

9'6" 6/7wt sounds the best option to me. Have never seen one of those rods, but two budget rods that I have cast with are the Grey's G series and the Whychwood Truefly. Both excellent value for money and both very usable fishing rods.

If that is your budget I would not look at anything other than Shakespeare Odyssey for half the price top vfm. Or go nuts and get the Trion. Have a look here.

I would go for the lighter 5/6 but its up to you.

The Adder is a very floppy rod and I cant personally get on with it. For a budget rod I'd go with CarperJim on this one. The Odyssey is a lot of rod for little money

Hi', Reid -- The Shakeys are good value for money. I have a little Odyssey, while a friend, mrtrout has a nice 9ft 5/6 wt Trion. I believe he prefers it to a Sage of similar description!! Now that is some recommendation. I haven't tried casting with a 9ft 6in 6wt Odyssey, but I'm sure it would do the trick, also.
