Default Intermediate Lines - colour ?

I am currently using a Cortland Blue intermediate WF8, it cast easily and has caught plenty of fish but I am looking at buying a 6 weight. I could never understand the choice of blue as a colour for the inter and although it doesn't seem to put the fish off I can't help thinking that a clear or "Cammo" line would be less visible (and catch more fish!)

I've been looking at the cortland precision clear cammo or Rio Camolux - has anyone tried these lines ? The cortland looks as if it is the same line as the "blue" (same taper, same sink rate) just a different colour.

Does anyone know why blue seems to be a popular colour for intermediates ?

The clear inters have to have a mono core, which tend to have memory issues.and if you use them on sunny days they shine like theyv'e been lit up.I have used clear inters for years but have recently stopped. My catch rate is still the same.

I don't know why blue is a popular colour, but lines tend to get darker the faster they sink, I have been using the clear camo for quite a while, I personally don't think the line colour has any affect of catch numbers.

I use a Greys Platinum clear intermediate and really like it. I've also got another rod and reel set with a blue intermediate that I sometimes use. It's a cheap Ron Thompson line and is good too.

Haven't noticed a difference in catch rate between the two at all. Don't think it matters much.

I would stick with the courtland blue as a choice of inter....good line
clear lines are way overrated and are like slinky's ....invisible....my bottom !

Thanks for the help - I'll probably stick with the "blue", the current one has been a very good line and doesn't seem to put the fish off even though it looks like it should
