Cool What spinning rod to pick.

Hello

I am going to buy a new spinning rod. I would be using it for sea trout, salmon, perch spinning of the rocks in the sea and predominantly pike. I would like it to be 8 foot and no more than £25-£30. Any recommendations?

cheers the now <3

not asking for much then

you are asking for a "1 rod for all jobs" rod from perch to pike fresh and sea

maybe you need a couple of rods or decide what you will use it for most

It will mostly be pike and perch but I get invited to do sea trout fishing for a week every year.

You sure you couldn't also find a rod that can play centre half, or right back?

Wait a minute, a one rod does all... yes, I know...

It's Rod Petrie you're looking for.

If you could push your budget a little bit more savage gear bushwackers are highly recommended a casting weight upto 40g would probably suffice, drennan have a range of lower budget rods that look pretty good

A tough tough order, it's like asking for a fly rod to cover 3oz wildies right upto Salmon, 2wt - 10wt, however you could save up and check out the dragon Guide range the Butcher is rated iirc a couple of grams to a max of about 21gms, aim at the lower end of the weight range at least a light rod will be nice for Perch and be exciting for Pike

Try the fladen range of rods, usually fibreglass or composite but do do better quality carbon rods as well. I use a few for mackeral/spinning/pollock and they do a good job.

Might be worth having a look on tacklebargains as they also have abu's shakespeare etc as that is where i got mine.

I bought a 7' Drennan Esox just after Crimbo and whilst I'm still trying to put a bend in it it is a great little rod.
Regards,
Dave.
