Default Simms G3 Waders

Hi Folks,

In recent years I have had 2 pairs Vision waders, both lasted just under a year and a pair of the GRXI's which have been good but started to leak about a month ago after a year an a halfs use.

I was wondering how many of you out there have the G3 waders.

After reading a couple of reviews on how durable they are I am thinking about getting a pair.

Can anyone tell me thier experiance with them (positives and negatives) and if they are worth the money?

Cheers
Martin

Martin, have you tried sealing the seams of your leaking waders? Works a treat and you can buy the sealant for about £5. Worth a try anyway. Also how do you store them as it sounds like you get through waders pretty quickly!?

Got a pair of Simms G3 waist waders last season with zip.

Fantastic for the over 40 something angler.

Hi - I had my last pair of visions sorted about 4 months ago from Diver Dave, however they are just starting to go again.

Plan is to get My greys waders re sealed from him and use them for the smaller rivers with more trees, Bushes etc or for short outings and use the New Pair for the bigger rivers and all day outings/ comps.

Cheers

Hmmmm sounds strange then. Are they leaking at the seams? You could go for a pair of Orvis waders as Orvis replace them with very few questions asked when they start leaking so I've heard...

Hi There,

I always hang my waders up to dry after every outing and then I lay them on a chair during the week, only time I have them in the bag is when traveling.

I am out on the river at least 2-3 times a week during the troot season so they do get some abuse. However I do make sure I look after them as best as I can.

I have Simms Gore-tex Waders third season coming up! But like any wader, they can be punctured by Brambles and bushes when you fish on small streams.

One good thing with Simms Gore-tex Waders - when you find a leak it is so easy to rectify and no need to buy new waders! I'd certainly buy another pair (If and When I could afford them) if only they were a little less expensive! Cheaper in the USA.

I bought a new pair of Simms G3's last year after having worn the previous Simms goretex waders for over 10 years without any leaks or problems despite mainly fishing small streams and constantly getting through brambles etc.

I wholeheartedly recommend Simms waders and honestly believe they are worth the extra expense.

Hi,

I´ve had a pair of G4s for 3 years and think they´re great. Still look good and the thicker Goretex seems to mould to your shape. I´m sure the G3s are the same quality, just with a bit less 5 layer Goretex.

I got mine from the States and got caught for tax, but I know of at least one American shop which is very helpful in this respect. PM me if you want their website address.

Cheers,

Damian F

Hi Folks,

Many thanks for all the info. I am just sick of paying 150 sheets for a pair of waders that last for jst over a year.

Out of interest has anybody tried the Hardy EWS as well as the simms?

Cheers
Martin
