Default knot sense

Loon uv knot sense, i see they (loon) say it increases knot strength by 20%! I don't know how true that is, has anybody used this stuff is it any good? Does it 'improve' knot strength? Is it worth the hassle?

Or is it all a load of old bluff????????

Hi cax
I don't like it it's a glue that cures in UV light or with a UV torch.I don't believe in gluing my fishing knots for strength. A good knot tied correctly will hold a fish. What if you want to undo it? My recommendation is to forget it.

Alright if you want to coat your knots to make them smooth to run through rod rings. Remember it does make the knot larger, so more knot to run through the rod rings. If you want to know about knots, get Lefty Kreh's book and dvd "Fishing Knots". There are some knots in there that he says is gives practically 100% strength. No loss in breaking strain. He also states " a bad knot tied well is better than a good knot tied bad".

Yea i would not be too sure about the stuff myself. I do not have too many problems with knots at all (very few actually), I just wondered was it a good as they claim.

In my fishing I only ever tie and use two knots a blood knot, and a three turn water knot for droppers. I do find it hard to see how the loon knot sense would improve those knots.

I suppose its just like a lot of items in the fishing industry, i often feel that these items are more designed to catch anglers rather than fish.

The main point of it is to stop strangulation knots from doing that very thing. If that's what you require then superglue does it just as well.
I do not use either.
