Default This stinks hardy greys!!!

i think this takes the pi$$

hardy 4000cc reel in uk £199 Hardy Ultralite CC Series Fly Reel – Glasgow Angling Centre

same reel in usa $199 (£130) plus free $75 fly line (upto £50 in uk)Hardy Reels: Ultralite CC - Stillwater Outfitters

im not talking about adding import taxes etc but why do americans get it much cheaper than us from a uk based company

they are oviously selling for a much cheaper price than they do to uk retailers and i would love to hear their thoughts on this

what is going on, this a uk based company(oK not made here anymore) but i think this is an absolute insult to uk buyers.

Simple answer is; STOP BUYING IT , they will eventually get the message.

As long as mugs continue to pay the price, the price will remain high.

DONT DO IT.

Can anyone tell us the actual figures involved in the various taxes, import duties etc payable in the US and the UK, so that we can make an informed judgment as to whether we are being ripped off. If we are, then we know what to do about it, don't we?

The shipping costs from China to America would be lower as there will be a larger volume of the product to ship. Then distribution within America will be cheaper because of fuel prices.
Its nothing to do with the dealers over here so theres no point in asking them, they have to sell it at a price point to ensure their business pays the bills.
The only people ripping us off are the treasury. Jon

another thing is that the hardy stock that gets sold in the USA is not from china to england to the USA. it goes straight from china to the USA. so that makes it cheapers still.
