When doing a search out of curiosity on here there seems to be a lot of new companies selling fly line...... Kinelle, Arla, Black ridge, WSB , Keenfisher to name but a few, who is making them all and does anyone know if they are any good. Stuart and Mike this only out of curiosity please no offence intended taken. Noel
ps how can you have a sinktip on a DT line.

PitsfordPirate will become famous soon enough

Some of them are Chinese lines, some are millends/seconds from UK manufacturers.

Many sink tips are simply a higher density coating; therefore can be added to WF or DT lines.

I bought one of these cheap lines, a DT 3wt. It might be 3wt but it didn't have any taper whatsoever! The replacement they sent me was no different. I have two lines to practice with at, effectively, £3.50 each though. For those more discriminating than me the lines around £20 seems to be the cheapest you can buy with confidence...

I recently got a cheapie from ebay,a DT6 weight cant remember the make though.Igot it to practice/improve my carry so as Iwouldnt be fishing it Ithought the cheapie would be fine.Loaded it onto a spool and lubed it up and took it over to the park. The line felt nice and supple but slick it was not. After hauling on the back cast and then bringing(or trying to)the line hand back to the rod hand it was hardly moving through the rings.Igave it a clean with a piece of microfibre cloth and reapplied some more lube but after about 3 or 4 more casts it was the same.I binned it as soon as I got home and ordered a Barrio mallard DT6 instead.

I'll never buy a cheapie line again. Absolute ****.. I bought several last season to see if they were any good. The 10 weights were the same diameter as the 6 weights and 7 weights. They just change the label!

I've now got that many **** lines about the place i'm confused as to whats good and whats ****..... Never again. Buy your lines from folks you can trust, or labels which have been tried and tested, including from trade members on here... Will save you money and hassle in the long run..

cheers
JJ
