Default Lanyard v Vest

What do u fellas consider is the best way of organising bits and bobs like Frigs Fanny ( if you use it ) , line sinkant such as fullers earth , and fly floatant eg Gink , when on the river?

I reckon i spent too much time in recent years on the river looking for stuff like that in small vest pockets instead of being a bit more efficient. Many seem to be using lanyards these days - any good , or are they a pain the backside that make you look like a girl?

I think i have seen suction cups or something before, that will efficiently store Gink etc upside down?

Used to use a lanyard but after a while it started to annoy me so i ditched it. I now have a suction cup for floatant and just keep my fullers earth in a pocket and I clamp my forceps to my wader straps. The trick is to only take what you will need and use, don't fill pockets up with stuff that will never see the light of day. That way when ur looking for something it will be easy to find.

the vest is better as i need to carry a rain jacket in its back pocket, cant do that with a lanyard.

A lanyard, but slung across the chest and under one arm, bandolier-fashion, rather than necklace-style in front of you. This allows you to swing the whole thing round behind you and out of the way until you need it, then you just swing it back. This way, you carry only the essentials, rather than all the bits and pieces which, with the best will in the world, finish up in the pockets of a vest. There seems to be an immutable law of nature which dictates that the more carrying capacity you have, the more you carry.
