Hi

I have just bought a 9 weight Greys Platinum XD Saltwater rod at a really good price. (expect they have a new line on the way).

I am after a saltwater resistant reel to use for pike (and a bit of bass when i get a chance). I fish for pike in Sweden where the water is brackish so i need it to handle saltwater. Would appreciate some advice on a good reel (at a resonable price).

Don't know what you call reasonable in terms of price but Sweden's very own Danielsson are some of the best reels out there. I have the L5W 6nine (used for salt with an 8wt) and they have 30% off at the moment from the superb Hugh O'Reilly (OReillys Fishing - Fly fishing tackle and fishing trips). You couldn't deal with a nicer chap and the reels are outstanding.

The vision Deep looks like a candidate.

I do love the Danielson, my cousin has one which i have used myself.
Just dont think i can stretch to it at the moment.

Might have something lined up within the next few days. will post the result if it turnes out to be a winner!
