Default Sage One

Has anybody any thoughts on the new Sage one? I was thinking of buying one.

I haven't cast the one yet, I picked up One & I was surprised at how lightweight they were for the rated line, the 7wt felt like a 5wt.
aesthetically they're bland, I personally dont like the reel seats, I think they are boring for such an expensive rod,
I like the blank colour & the whippings, I also like the full snake guides instead of the single leg guides.
they are not as good looking as the winstons...

If I designed the rod I would go back to the old sage logo and double stripper guides like that on the rpl's.
I would also like clear guide whippings.

Interesting reading here, looks like an excellent stick if you're after a 6 or 7wt

I would definitely like to try one out,
are you going to buy one Sean?

I've cast a few of them. Which 'one' were you thinking about?

If you PM Cwmitch2 I'm sure he will give you his opinion, he has certainly tried one of these (9' #6). There was another thread on the Sage One a little while ago... Sage One

The 9ft #5 is sublime with the Cortland 444 , However the handle design is very poor indeed , I am thinking of sending mine to David Norwich to have the Handle replaced/or ground down at the front! Sold one of my Z-Axis and one of my ZXL to get one!

Buy from the US and save £200.00

I'm seriously thinking about a 9' 6wt for dries & nymph fishing here on the Loughs & big rivers,

I am currently using a 9' 5wt rpl with a 6 wt cortland 444, the rpl is really delicate, I don't want to break it again.
