Always found the Greys rods fine. The new GRXi is ver nice and comes in under £100. Also consider the Sharpes Gordon, around the £150.00 mark

For a reel IMHO the Vision Koma takes some beating. Around the £60 mark with a spare spool. Other than that the GRX at £39.99 is good value

Not necessarily, but it means is that you will be able to fit less backing on it.

You would have to watch that the reel still balances with the rod though

Obee, dont go grx reel - too heavy . Go with Greys rods - they dont seem to make a bad one - reel choice out there is good too - Koma fine......

Hi Obee, for £200 you can buy a fulling mill ti4 rod (which should come with an unconditional lifetime original owner guarantee) and a vision koma 7/8 which is a very nice little set up for the money.
You can get the rod here http://www.carptrading.com/acatalog/ for £130 inc delivery and I believe Cromie posted about being able to get the vision koma's delivered for under £50 from somewhere in NI.
If you are fairly new to fly fishing then maybe you should disregard my rod suggestion as it is quite fast/stiff.

Happy hunting
lenny

Just wondered if anyone had converted from small waters to bigger and had some spare tackle.
I will consider all offers and decide on the best option
Looking for something light to fish dry flies on local brooks and small rivers.

C'mon guys

Zr2 Fly Rods http://www.fly-fishing-tackle.co.uk/...wbee_rods.html

The slim lightweight blanks are all 3-piece for convenience and come with quality cotton drill rod bag, Polyester Oxford covered Rod tube and for peace of mind come with our lifetime warranty.

Included in the new ZR2 range are some specialist light line river rods. The 9ft & 10ft #3-4 weight rods offer the river fisher that extra length, for short line work, with slightly softer through action, making them ideal for Czech nymphing or fishing teams of wet flies.

Included in the new Zr2 range are two stunning new salmon rods. Designed with a medium to fast, powerful action these new rods provide the discerning salmon angler with an ideal "all round" Salmon rod, capable of handling long 'traditional' Spey lines or our short belly Scandinavian Spey lines with the minimum of effort. Designed for real life fishing situations they cope admirably with the various density lines needed to meet the ever changing weather conditions and particularly make easy work of ultra fast sunk lines.

Like all of our two handled rods, the Zr2 salmon rods have their 'optimum head weight' ratings given in grams as well as the more traditional AFTM ratings, performing at their best when balanced with our own complete range of Spey lines.
