Default Is nylon breathable?

Hi all

Came across a fly vest , and although it has a polyester mesh lining, its made of 100% nylon ( Taslan ? ) .

I dont think this is a breathable material is it?

Any ideas ?

Unless it's been coated in something Taslan is just a tightly woven polyster fabric, it's got good 'wicking' properties, i.e. moisture will pass through it and it's pretty windproof too, it's also repels water quite well. It's used a lot in hillwalking kit.

Hang on a mo.......... I still wear nylon shirts

Nylon can be used as a bretahable product - if you take most sports base layers, which are designed to wick moisture away from the body, they are nylon. I think the weave may have a siignificant affect on it's breathability.

That would be poor polyester surely? Farrah absolutely naff! Didn't the pants seat polish up to a shine?

Nylon is polyamide and lycra and spandex are breathable variants.
