I've just bought a 9' #5 from Gary Evans Tackle half price.
Great rod but the lovely rod tube has come with the gold end cap labelled as a 9' #4 which is rather annoying when I have other similar rods.
Gary Evans have been very helpful trying to replace it but Hardy have no spares to swap it and I've spoken to Hardy direct with the same answer.
Hardy are aware of this "issue" from other complaints but because they are end of line they can't/won't do anything about it.
I suspect the factory ran out of the more common 9' #5 tubes and just used up remaining stock from the #4's.
They have offered me a free fly line as compensation but I know it will annoy me every time I open that tube!
I thought when I told them about my collection of 15 mid to top of the range Hardy & Greys rods and 6 reels that I might get somewhere but no...
I didn't tell them I haven't paid more than half price for any of them though LOL

Anyway, if you're in the market for one it might be worth checking it's in the right tube.

Glasgow Angling still have the Marksman reels at £100 too.
