Default Vosseler RCL2 Reel

I recently ordered an Airlo Airlite reel at a sale price from an on-line retailer and to my dissapointment a Vosseler RCL2 arrived with a note that the Airflo was not available.

I understand that the Vosseler is a quality reel and is of a greater value than the Airflo but it does not have a disc drag and i prefer the look of the airflo.

The reel is to be used with a 7' 6" 4 weight for small river use and I have to admit to not using the drag on my existing reel so may not prove to be an issue, however if i use the reel and decide it is not for me i will not be able to return.

If i could swap it for the reel i ordered i would but that would involve adding more cash and i can't justify more than about 60 pounds for a reel.

Just thinking aloud - what do you guys think?

That doesn't quite make sense to me Alfred. Why should it cost you more?
Vosseller is a well built reel, and if you are happy to palm it, then I would stick with it, a better built reel than an Airflo, JIMO of course.

Sorry I did not explain that very well - The Airflo was reduced and is more expensive everywhere else so if I was to accept the refund I would need to add quite a bit to buy the Airflo from another shop.

Keep the vossler ,the airflo one might last a decade the Vossler twice three times longer .
Quality reels do keep on going ,the lower quality "fashion" reels just die , They dont need to be top dollar either ,amongst my far too many reels are a couple of 50 year old redditch reels that are still going stron and 30 year old Marquis's again not top of the range but still doing the job well .
Buy once and then spend the long term savings on more modern rods ,they are easier to use than the heavy beasts from yesteryear !
