Default Advice on bait rod

Hi,
Looking to purchase a bait rod for my old man who can't fly fish due to his health. Was thinking about the greys multi bait. Anyone got any experience of these or something similar probably 9 or 10ft for stocked browns and rainbows will be fine. Or maybe even a spinning or light carp type rod rod to handle 10 40 grams....

Thanks in advance
Kevin

Afraid I can't offer advice on this. I blew the dust off my 20 year old 8 foot Shakespeare and took my nephew down the pier with it. It did me fine when I were't lad and I've had no cause to look at bait/spinning rods since. So long as it casts the right weight, I don't think it really matters.

I just purchased the mrs a shakespeare mach 1 xt rod and reel, look pretty decent for the money. They also do the mach 1 xt specialist, slightly heavier rod. Infos on their site.

If its for float fishing, try a power float/carp waggler type match rod, which is a bit more powerful than a standard match/float rod so would handle decent trout well. These Garbolino ones (Rocket carp waggler) are highly rated
Cheshire Fishing - Garbolino Carp and Coarse Rods

Or this Drennan one:

There's loads around, great value too, the Maver Abyss ones are also good
Or these TF gear ones on Fishtec

If you drop Kieron Jenkins on here a pm he may be able help too as he's a Fishtec rep.

If its more for spinning then a spinning rod would be better, but you could still use a 10' version of the above for light spinning.
