Default Hardy Marksman 10' 6#

I bought a Hardy Marksman when the price was reduced by 50%. I was itching to use it so went out for a short session today at Roslynlea.

I can't remember the last time I fished with a rod like this absolute quality, a joy to fish with. I was putting the vast majority of my floating line out with it and it was effortless.

I don't know what others views are on this but I am delighted with the rod.

The Marksman is a very underated rod , The 9ft #5 is a great rod as well but The 10ft #6 is the best of the bunch

I am sorry to spoil the party but I really do not like the Markman. I tried a 9ft 4# earlier in the year at Hardy's casting pool, Alnwick. I just couldn't get any feel out of the rod, it felt lifeless to me. However 'one mans meat is another man's poison' and if you've been lucky enough to find your dream rod at a very reduced RRP then you must be extremley satisfied........its just not for me though, sorry.

The 9ft #4 lacks any feel at all , The 9ft #5 and the 10ft #6 are the best of the range , I tried one of the #4's during last season but you may like it Craig but I did not!

The 10ft #4 seems better , But not as good as the 9ft #5 or the 10ft #6.

I have tried most of the range
