I tried the store but could not get in, Snow White was there with all her mates in the queue blocking the door.

you wont beat these in my opinion ive had mine years ,and they are still like new , easy to walk in, very supple ,extremely warm ,washable removable lining,no signs of perishing at all across bridge of foot even after years of squatting/kneeling etc placing stress on the area ... out of 10 if i could give 11 i would ..

I picked a pair of these up off eBay for about £35

Freezer Boots Servus Top Steel Toe, FREEZER BOOTS, FBN38

I have to work outside in all weathers, and always struggled with cold feet, not with these, although the steel toe and footplate makes them a bit weildy.

A more flexible option are made by a uk company, called skeetex

Another recommendation for the Derri Boots Pisces.
Solid, well insulated, comfortable to walk in. Excellent value IMO

Ebay - Goretex-lined army surplus boots. £30 or thereabouts.
Warm, dry and comfortable (bit stiff when new).
