Thumbs up Good customer service from Okuma/Svendsen

Credit where its due and all that. Some months back a friend who was using an Okuma fixed spool reel of mine managed to drop the front drag knob (jees, even that got blanked out first time!) into the sea, meaning the reel couldn't be used. I was also missing some handles off an Okuma centrepin. Initially I e-mailed Okuma/Svendsen but got a blunt reply saying I needed to go through a local dealer for spares, which I tried at several local dealers but no joy, so I gave up. Recently I read of another contact e-mail for Svendsen sports: uk@svendsen-sport.com (can't remember which one I'd tried originally) so I tried again. It went through to a chap called Steve in their Lichfield office. Anyway, the very next day I got a reply saying he could get me the parts I needed for a minimal cost and a few days later I've received them. Excellent I like Okuma reels, I have several fixed spool ones, a centrepin and some Okuma fly reels, and they're all good reels and sensible prices. This sort of back up would give me added confidence buying more.

Seconded Jeff, I dealt with them over my Okuma Sheffield, and they were spot on.

Aye they are pretty hot....I got a Sceirra Ferrox rod section replaced out of warranty for very little cost (£25 inc p.p). They sent it over from Sweden.
