Just wondering what the great and good out there use for storing their flies whilst on the river.

Like so many others, I like to avoid clutter but am not sure that a flybox is out there that can carry:

Beaded Nymphs
Klinks and parachutes
CDC flies
Hackled flies ( small Griffiths Gnats mainly )
Spiders
Deer hair sedges
Bob Wyatt Deer Hair Emergers ( ie spiky wing that needs to be protected)
Sedge Pupae

.....ie a small number of each.....

( Think thats about all i use...! )

I used a Fulling Mill box last season which was just ok, but wondered what else people use?

Ideally it should fit into a normal fly vest, perhaps have flip up compartments and some sort or rippled foam for nymphs. I guess the main think is not to crush the klink posts, deer hair etc

C+F looks like the default option, but as so many fiver fishers use similar flies, I just wanted to find out what you use?

Or, if you have any sense - DO accept these substitutes of essentially the same quality & construction, but less than 1/6 of the cost !!!!

Found it Ben ....Can you store klinks in that without posts getting crushed by the other side of the box? Not sure that would suit hackles flies? Perfect for nymphs . You use it for all this kinda stuff? Tks

I have C&F but only because I bought them before joining this forum. Have seen some of the others and they are just as good.
I have no problem storing dries, klinks etc in the ripple foam slots and the swing leaf stops well above the flies so nothing gets crushed.

I like my sixteen compartment Snowbee model. Flat foam for all my nymphs, spring loaded compartments for all my Klinks, emergers, CDCs, Elk Hair Caddis, and a few spiders. You can open and close them single handed.

I am moving towards minimalist with stock boxes at home and I just want to load into the streamside box what I think I will need.
I have recently bought, but not yet tried, a Sierra box from Mullarkeys. It has 8 spring lid compartments one side and slit foam on the other. Less than half price at £5.99. I find 6 inch boxes just a bit too big.

Yep - fine for dries and nymphs, including klinks. I use one side for nymphs and the other for dries and that way nothing gets crushed.
