Default refurbish reels how?

Chaps
I have some W. Youngs reels that have had a lot of use over 30 years.
They are mechanically sound but what ever was coated onto the bodies is flaking off.
Some I have stripped back to metal but what could I recoat them with ?

Your answers or experience would be welcomed.
Thanks

You're better off leaving them as they are. Have a read of this thread: Cleaning Reels in Classic Reels Forum.

The paint loss shows they've had a good life, and caught lots of fish!

regards,

Doc
