Default Sage ESN vs Sage ONE

Hi all!! Is possible to make a comparison among ESN 10' #3 and ONE 10" #4?? Which could you use for Czech when fish are average small with a few large? I prefer your opinions not comercials from Sage. Has somebody fished the two rods?? Thanks and excuse too many questions!!!

I can't comment on these rods, but I got to fish my brothers Sage 99 4wt with a Rio indicator line last weekend and what a nice rod it is, will definitely be saving for one after xmas, nice through action but with plenty of power down below. Ideal for Czech nymph fishing

Jose, I have not fished with the Sage One, although I have cast the 9ft 5#. So I can't comment on it as a nymphing rod, but I would rate it a a dry fly rod.
I do own the 10ft 2# ESN ant it is a real pleasure to use. I have used it fishing very light nymphs and ling leaders which it casts with ease, it also handles heavier nymphs fished right under the rod tip and what surprised me most about it is that it is a very capable rod for dry fly fishing.

I have caught fish up to about 1.25 Kgs and it was strong enough in the butt section to handle these fish.

Hope this helps

Frank

Ive heard some great things about the ESN, im thinking about getting the 10' 2wt but cant decide whether to get a factory rod or a custom built one. Will there be much difference?

A vote for ESN.

The rod is very light, easily balanced by a small reel, which makes the combined weight of the rod and reel around 200 grams! ESN is responsive - you feel every stone on the river bottom, fish takes are very distinct - hardly miss a fish. In case you need to switch to dry fly, ESN handles that quite OK. I have combined it with Cortland Sylk DT3.

I also own 99 4wt, which I am trying to sell now :-)
