Default Loomis NRX

Hello chums I'm curious now that Hardy have raised the bar on rod pricing
as we approach the 1K fly rod Has anyone bought an NRX and
what do they think of them as they were the most highly priced and I wonder
how many have seen homes?

I've a front seat with a beer for this one.

I thought the "Take The Total P1ss" award for pricing went to Loomis and the £750 NRX rods, until Hardy came out with the new "Fleece your ass" Artisan rod at nearly £1000.

Sorry, more chance of me picking up a cocktail stick with my butt cheeks than buying one.

Colin.
Hi I have a 7wt NRX for all my bass fishing, it is a lovely rod does everything I would expect it to do but I did not pay the asking price (UK Prices). There aren't many UK fly rods that can cast big flies on windy days like this one can. I paid £400.00 for this rod and would not pay any more than that. I have also got a 8wt glx crosscurrent from Loomis, I have had this rod for about 8yrs so if it lasts, as long as that, ill be happy. £50 a year so far not bad considering the abuse it gets.

I had a shot of a 10' #6 NRX in the local park and I thought the rod was nice and light but that is the only good thing I can say about it. I thought the finishing was poor, the colours are shocking and it was sloppy when casting by that I mean far to soft.

I had a cast of the 10ft 7 at sportfish earlier in the year and did not like it, but it is built on different tapers than the saltwater rods, the colour does take some getting used to but it does preform well so I don't worry about the finish.

As long as that!!! And if you buy one in the states you get something called
a wildcard which means you take your broken rod in to any loomis retailer
and they replace it over the shelf it's a one off thing but nice none the less.
Over hear you get nothing O sorry you get the luxury of sending it to the
Shimano service centre and they decide if they'll repair or replace it Nice to see a level playing field.

As a wee follow up, wonder how many reaction
rods guideline have sold, because alas for them
they launched at the same time as the Zenith
like Loomis did with the NRX.. Has anyone used
one just curious??
