Default Airfo Balance Reel Drag Adj ???

Just bought an Airflo Balance reel 7/9 @ £30 from Fishtec.

Pretty please with it for what t is and find the design pleasing.

One thing however I find the drag has very little travel on it's adjustment compared to my other **** turn drags on other reels. Maybe say half a turn from full on to minimum setting?

Is this normal for the model ?????

PS That was Kn0b

I had the 9/11 model. Found it to be very reliable & caught many many Pike on the fly with it.

I did find the drag adjusted with very little rotation required.

Many people seem to dislike them, and i am not an fan of AIRFLO products at all! But the reel looked interesting so I bought it purely to satisfy my curiosity & must say it never gave me any problems despite prolonged frequent use.

I saw one person at my local fishery with one, where the spool would not stay on the reel.

Not very good that??

Best regards

Yeah, Ive heard a lot of crappy things about the balance reels, and the spool coming off, drag packing in & bits loosening seem to be the main complaints.

As I mentioned, I am really not an Airflo fan, but my Balance reel never caused me any concern, but maybe I was lucky & just got one of the few 'good uns.' But sure for 30 quid its worth a go anyway isnt it??? I'll guarantee you that someone somewhere will buy it off you if it doesnt suit. In fact drop me a line in the future if your looking rid!!!

Just think of all the poor souls that bought it at the seemingly everlasting 'half price sale' sum of £99.99.
