Default Has anyone used an Echo fly rod?

Just out of interest, has anyone had experience of Echo fly rods? If so, how did you find them?

I have a 7wt which I use for saltwater which I find to be great. I'd say that the build quality isn't quite up to the Sage/winston level but who would expect it to be. I broke the tip once on mine just pulling it out of the sock more down to my own fault no doubt but I doubt some of my other rods would have broken with that force. They replaced it free of charge and no quibbles, even though it had a rather confaluted purchase by way of the US. So I think its difficult to go too far wrong with them, especially for the price, I'd recommend them.

The fishing club I used to be in bought about a dozen for teaching casting classes and they were generally very well thought of. And the Rajeff brothers certainly know their stuff and seem nice enough when they used to come to my local fly shop for shows demos etc.

I believe that Baltic flyfisher is the EU distributor and I know he posts on here and is a great chap to deal with in my experience.

With minimal exception the Echo rods are getting good press on our side of the Pond.

I'm very pleased with my 12.6 ft #6/7 Echo Classic Double Hander.
Very nice and light rod with true classic action. Casts an Airflo Forty plus WF8F or S5 like a dream.
Also very good support.

Petri and tight lines,

Peter
