Default Western/ Hampshire

On a few threads about rods the Orvis Western 2 has been recommended, but some have suggested the original Western. Is that the Hampshire?

No, the Hampshire is different. The original Western was called just that as opposed to the Western 2. I might be wrong but I think that it was only available as a 10' #7.

Morning all,
You wouldn't believe it just checked my rod [it was at my brothers house]and it's the Western 10' #7, for some strange reason thought it was a Hampshire, old age must be setting in

And Orvis did a Western Midge. I have an 8 foot, 4 weight, which is a delightful little rod.
