I am a huge fan of Scott.
They are good but compared to what?
The A2 is not the best in the range IMHO, but good for the money.
There are a couple of shops (NOT SPORTFISH) were you can pick them up for decent money.

I have the A2, 9'6" #7. I love the rod, much much better than the Greys G-Series I was using, and a substantial upgrade on the Greys GRXi, in my opinion that is.

Regarding the shops selling them cheap, one of the North West Angling Supplies only has a limited number left and I dont think anything around the 9' - 10' is left. I paid £135 for mine.

I use the A2 10' #6 for most of my stillwater fishing now. It's a really nice actioned rod with the ability to put out a big line if necessary - one of the better rods in its price range (excellent if you can get one for around £120 from NWAC).

I'm going to get a 9ft 5wt from the USA when I visit on saturday. One of the rods I was looking at was the A2, the cheapest I've found them is $300 (£150) which seems expensive when you can get 7&8 weights for less here. what sort of action do they have, do you think they're worth it?

sorry to hi- jack your thread kried.

I think the A2 is excellent value for money. I have a 9' #8 weight which i bought for a bonefishing trip. I would describe the action as medium fast. Casts well enough close in but also has a lot of power deeper down the blank which can be called upon for longer casts. Nice rod, but as always make sure you try before you commit.

Fatfish - Heard great things about the 9' #5 S3 which maybe worth a look. I have the 8'6'' #5 which is very nice.

yeah it looks good. it's also twice the price so dont think I can stretch that far. I'm gonna cast an equivalent st croix aswell which are suppoed to be good rods for the money.
