Default

I've not cast one personally but I believe this is the line used by Simon Gawesworth for the single handed spey casting on Rio's modern speycasting DVD. Looking at the profile of the line, I would not say that it would make a great overhead distance line as the rear taper is only 4' and the total head length is only 38' so to get distance you would have to shoot a good deal of line as it would be tough to hold a lot in the air (depends upon your casting ability). Will probably cast like an "average" WF with the floating tip but distance will be much more difficult to achieve with an overhead cast when using the sink tips.

Cheers

Ben

Default versitip with z-xis or xp on 7-9 wt rod

Thanks For the reply
That doesn't sound to bad. From a practical point of view casting to the far bank wont be a requirement as I only do a little still water fishing anyway. I can cast a fair old line out but learned along time ago you don't have to cast that far to catch fish. Although from time to time putting a long line out is a requirement.
I hope someone has used one with a sage xp or z-axis on a 7-9 wt and can post there thoughts. Its quite a bit of cash to fork out if it will only cast like a damp squib.
tight lines
Phil
