Hi all

Looking to splash out on a orvis set to fish farmoor.ie launching bobbies.

any ideas would be welcomed

your only choice if orvis is your way to go is a 10' #8 western 3

the orvis is a good tool, this is my idea only as you may fish from bank more an expensive rod would take its toll on the concrete bowel and road side step and line as well. i use a cheap 9ft 6inch 6/7 rod, large arbour reel and john norris £5 line. and catch fish. maybe i am a **** fisherman but you pays your money and takes your choice.

To be honest i also like the orvis reels so it might pay you to have a look at those as well,its a bit of an indulgence [okay tackle tart] because in my opinion unless you are fishing for monsters that require playing on the reel a reel is just to hold line and there are some really good reels out there for a lot less money,its always worth looking in the members sale section, that is were i got my last orvis reel.
