There's 50% of William Joseph and Loop clothing, and 25% of all other stock. Should be worth a trip !

Very very helpful with a brilliant stock of materials and clothing to choose from especially when looking at the size of the shop. Not the greatest stock of rods but like most shops they will to order you one in.

I think the name of the guy who helped me was Peter, I apologise if i'm wrong. He was very honest and very patient. I tried out numerous rods and ended up buying two along with some fly lines and materials. I spent a pretty penny in there so he gave me a hat for free and a chocolate bar for my nephew, which thankfully quietened him down during the trip home. I shall be going back within the next 4 weeks.

5/5 (but dont expect a free cap)

Thumbs down Closed again?

Dissapointed to head over to pick up a few things yesterday and find the shop closed................again.

Have been over 3 times now this year to find the shop closed when the website says it will be open.

Hallo chickenfish. I am indeed very sorry for your wasted time, I have been away visiting family over the Christmas period, so have not checked this forum for a few days. Because of Tata (our landlords) H&S policy, when the company has its Christmas shutdown the estate at the Eyebrook is closed to vehicle access. Our Shop however still operates for people who walk in, we recommend the use of the Alec Lane Gate as its not so far to walk. Unfortunately when you visited us we were there, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 21, 22 & 23rd December. We did have a message on our answer phone that did offer this information, however I do realise that we should put more information regarding this on our website and will do so in the future.
We plan to open every day during the coming season, which starts for us on Sunday 20th March (Hospitality day. Fishing starts Thursday 24th March). We shall be open during the winter Monday - Friday 9am - 3pm staring again on January 4th.
We wish you a very happy New Year, apologise for your inconvience and thank you for your remarks which we will act upon.
Best regards
Stuart & Sue Illsley.

Thankyou for taking the time to respond.

Perhaps a sign on the gate might be useful to inform people that you are indeed open. Just a thought.

Sorry for delay. I'm just getting old and when it comes to computers well, I'm learning. Regards sign, we would like to put one up, but the landlord won't let us do any perimiter advertising, of any sort. I realise that is a poor excuse but will give it a bit of thought for next year, even if the signage is off a 'temp nature'. I do agree with you however that I need to make visitors more aware of our winter hours. ( NOW MONDAY - FRIDAY 9 am - 3pm UNTIL March 21st, when we will be open 8am - 5pm everyday.)
Once again I am sorry for your wasted trips

What about an 'A' board with opening times at the turning on the main road near the sign posts? Drop it off on your way in, and pick it up on your way home.

My women in waders calender has pride of place in the kitchen . Thanks for sorting it out.
