I've been to sportfish a few times now and I have to say the staff are
fantastic very helpful. The beauty of the shop is you can try the rods
rather than just look at them. Great range seems to be in stock when
I've been there, The only lower score is price they all seem to be RRP
although if you don't mind asking you can in my experience get an OK
discount.. Give them a go if you want to try ten rods try them.

Default Good Show

I have always found the staff very helpful and often pop in for bits. It is expensive though.

Default Credit where credit is due

We fishermen are quick (and at times rightly so) to condemn the various on line retailers when things go wrong or service is poor etc.

Today I can say that Sports fish have conducted themselves in an excellent manner regarding my leaking waders. As the waders were made in America I thought that I would have trouble getting another pair as they didn't have them in stock (and are even removed from their catalogue) so was very surprised to see a new pair arriving yesterday.

Not only that but as the leak was in the boot foot, they had sent these back earlier to see if I could stick some adhesive on the leak to get me fishing while they awaited a reply from the states. Seeing the originals were only months old, I in effect have two pairs to ensure if one goes again I have the other to fall back on.

So well done Sports fish, I doff my hat to you all .

I shop in Sportfish Reading every few weeks. While all staff are extremly helfull and great their fly tying stock is very limited. Hooks section is very poor. Couldn't find most of Tiemco, forget about 2499spbl, other in silly sizes. I understand it's easier to sell expensive rods, reels or clothing but we don't buy those all the time.

Anyway I will come back there on regular basis, just order my hooks or beads through net.

Regards,

Bujo

I am a fan of this shop, they are always interested in letting you try a rod and having a chat about fishing. Also there is a good fishery onsite with the perfect place for casting lessons.

i have been to the shop since its inception more over the open days in may i think. yes plenty of parking, lots of shop space and clean, friendly staff, lots of nice gear but not realy for the average joe, high end high prices, but like everything you pays your money and takes you choice. since then i bought 1 rod sportfish brand top snapped, snowbee xs bag, leaked in water, got new one on an open day so could look at the expert casters so my advice phone before making journey and dont bother email they dont reply
