Default Superglue!

Superglue required after a couple of hours on the local stream today.

After several weeks of work, high and coloured water and a fruitless trip to the club lake I managed a brace but hooked another six without managing to land the blighter's!
I have experienced days like this before and wondered if any other forum members have had difficulty in the past also. Nothing different from normal, same flies and tackle set up, barbless hooks ect.
I do not normally lose so many?

The one below a lovely fish of fourteen inches taken on a dry from under an overhanging tree.

Thanks Mark

Nice fish Mark.
As for the fish coming off, think we all have days like that. Sometimes with the fish leaping around they can throw a barbless hook. But the way to look at it i think is this,if we break off or get smashed by a good fish,we can drive home with the knowledge that the fish will most likely be free of the hook in a very short space of time. Worth the odd lost fish.
However all things considered, better penetration of the hook etc,i think overall barbless hooks could land us more fish.

It's funny, isn't it?

Last week on our club river I lost the first three fish hooked. All were on a barbless beadhead siz 14 GRHE nymph fished singly, using the fly line movement to detect takes.

I moved to shallower water and fished the same fly NZ style. Caught 12 fish and lost none.

It could have been that I responded to the takes quicker with the benefit of an indicator, but those first fish were of a decent size and all felt well hooked.

Not really sure what to make of it.
