Hi keithnu

I have the 5/6 and use it quite regular, brilliant rod well finished and an absolute bargain at the price.
You will not be disapointed at all.

I use the 3/4 weight and its great for the price. It's not a fast action rod but its great if you're on a budget or just giving small streams a go. I combine mine with a Leeda rimfly from the 80s!

Super rods. My 9ft 5/6 was my absolute favorite. Didn't last long though, the rings were totally worn out in two seasons - grooved to hell and back. I tried to re ring-it with better quality rings but had an accident with the stanley knife.

At the price just buy another every two years. For me it cast better than my mates Sage (not sure which model but it was horrid!) and his Hardy Angel.

Great rod and a bargain at that price. Slower action than some other rods, but loads up quick with a 4 weight. Great small river rod.

Thumbs up

Thumbs up for the 3/4 weight from me too.
I have one for the burns and love it and at £27 you really can't go wrong.

I think 2 weight outfits have very limited use,any sort of a downstream wind and you will struggle. Also if practising catch and release i believe in bringing the fish in quite quickly before its played to a standstill.
If your fish are 8oz to 1lbs go for a 3 to 4 weight.
Also, and its something you dont realise till you look, there are very few manufacturers of 2 weight fly lines!
