Default Small stream bamboo rod 6' 6''

Hi,

could anyone give me an idea about a nice and affordable bamboo rod?
I haven't had one yet, so I have no idea how to go about getting one, what is important to be careful about etc.

Besides, is it possible at all to find something decent for 200 - max 300.
What are the odds?
I'm not keen on getting some bad chinese stuff.

I would appreciate any help, also ebayers, who are the people who sell/make good rods.

Thank you in advance.
Dimiter

You wont go far wrong if you get in touch with Gary Nicholson (Bbamboo on here). Nice rods at sensible money. I have a 6'6" 4# built by him and its a gem

Only drawback is, like all good makers, you may have to wait a while. I got one on order now which may not be ready until September but well worth the wait

If you can whip rings on, get in touch with Chapmans - I have just finished mine and all I had to do was whip the rings and varnish them, as the blank was impregnated. John Chapman made the blank, fitted the ferrule and even turned and fitted the handle and reel seat for me, as my toolset was very limited. He does not charge the earth for all this labour - the specification was one I cobbled together with the help of others on the forum, Bbamboo especially. Even paying John Chapmn to do the ferule and handle work it still came in at under £300. I now have a lovely 6' 3wt bamboo, based on a phy midge taper that Bbamboo provided the numbers for.PM me your e-mail address if you wat all the details on the spec I sent chapmans. I am sure you will not be disapointed. There are a few pics in my album, but these are poor as they were take on my phones camera - but the should give you an idea, if this helps

regards
