Default New club, new beck ....

well i went today to my new clubs water near Thirsk, N.Yorks there is about 3miles of fishing mainly double bank apart from one section , only thing is most of the banking is high as you will see in pics , i only went with the intention of having a scout round to see what was there , this is the start of my new club water and walking upstream for about a mile ,albeit it doesnt seem a mile but this beck has more twists and turns in it than the latest election

,i did take the little 8' 4# and thigh waders, but due to the high banking in most places and water deeper than thigh waders in areas ,i will take chesties next time so i can wade all the way up , today was mainly a fact finding outing with an odd cast to a few fish , there were some very good trout to be seen upto approx 2lb that i saw with some reasonable grayling seen aswell , one thing i did see in the slower pools was quite a lot of chub the biggest i saw today would of been around 3lb , should be good fun with them after the season opens, it has a good mixed sections of water and that is just in approx the first mile , i cant wait to see the next two of them then , there was one particular trout that i saw that was definitely pushing two pound that was unusually light in colour with a unfamiliar big black marking on his head , at first to be honest i thought it was a koi carp because of the single marking , that fish has me determined to get him out now because of its markings and is certainly unmistakable from any others
and thats my first jolly to see whats what and get familiar with surroundings . and all for the princely sum of £45

How many rivers, streams and becks does a man need... You greedy sod!
Looks lovely though mate, and can't grumble at that price either...

Week Sunday have you got any plans? I fancy another crack at one of those 'wrong side of the hills' waters...

as many as i like because YORKSHIRE.... GODS OWN COUNTY.. is full of them unlike long neck country and its one where i can get away from visitor's from o'er'tills because theres no guests , anyways you couldnt fish there theres far to many trees your fly would never be in the water...saying that though i would have plenty of tree trout pics for my collection

PM on its way shortly mate....

That knarled tree root picture looks a corking pool.

If you hook a big chub under there it'll be fun.

That's a stunning looking beck. I would give my left arm for a river like that near here. 2lb trout, 3lb chub!
I'm lucky if I locate a 6oz fish - I have to take a train ride to get near a 2lb trout! You ****** - it looks like it's going to be fun exploring for you. I hope you post a few photo's of a days fishing. I want to see that strange marked trout as well - get on with it! haha

Old ten gloves can talk Bruce, ask him about his camera and phone.
He washed them both in the Eden.
Looks a nice bit of watter mate.
