Default wellow fly advice this weekend

Think the water levels are looking good for my first trip to the wellow near bath this weekend. PResumably heavy nymphs are the thing if no hatch is on the go? What type of patterns to go with for nymphs or dries if I am lucky enough to see rises? ALso so I can begin tying flies for the coming months what type of patterns will be good as the water warms?
THanks

Try speaking to Dave Wiltshire. I fished the Wellow with him yesterday, there is a link to his blog in the small streams thread laying out the trip. I caught on a heavy caddis, Dave took fish on a variety of flies, including dries, there was some hatches and surface action from about midday on.

regards

Vince
