Post Barbless hook storage

Since i only use barbless or de-barbed hooks for all of my wild Trout and Grayling fishing, can someone recomend a good way of storing said flies on my waistcoat.
I have used a sheepskin patch for years, but it always seems to be empty now when i get back to the car!

One of these is a good option ... a 'pin on', C&F Fly Protector. You can get them for £10 - £15. The slit foam holds barbless hooks exceptionally well.

I had a similar problem and after posting on here I was kindly gifted (cheers GeordieCarl) one of these

The Waterworks Lamson

Which attaches to your vest / shirt with a clever clip, front flips down to expose a rippled dense foamy rubber which grips barbless flies well. Flip it shut and their locked up tight and cant fall out. If they do come loose you can find them at the bottom of the trap.

Unfortunately I'm not sure where you get them in the UK

Try a flat fridge magnet attached to your vest somehow I have not tried this myself your thread just got me thinking. Wether it will work or not I have no idea it may not be strong enough but if you have one on your fridge it will cost you nothing to try I must go and put a patent on that idea now, let me know if it works if you try it. they may need a stronger magnet.

Try the orvis small foam box , you can get em on ebay for about £6, they have velcro on the back and attach to the vest , you may just have to stitch some velcro on your vest if there aint none on it. cheers Spencer

I use a Benecchi folding fly patch - it seems to hold them all in.

There's a Hardy version too and they're both around £15, but this one looks similar - and a lot cheaper! Mikes Tackle Shop

Can't vouch for it though.

Regards,

Doc

C+F magnetic one, its very thin, shallow foam compartments, clear plastic.
