Default Small streams thread?

I was looking through the forum; and realised that there seems to be quite a few new sections listed in the right hand column! So, I was wondering if there is room for one more? A SMALL STREAMS SECTION maybe admin could include a section especially for the discussion of fishing on "SMALL STREAMS" a place to share our exploits, photos and stories - of times spent fishing " SMALL STREAMS" and of course we could discus the the lightweight tackle needed for fishing on "SMALL STREAMS! I love fly fishing with small lightweight gear; and I have passion for fishing "Small Streams" what about the rest of you! Do you think we should ask for a "SMALL STREAMS SECTION"

I do!! But if not! Maybe we could use this thread?

Mostyn

Hi Mostyn, sounds like a great idea to me,i too enjoy the small streams and the short rods and light tackle needed for such places. So many small streams and rivers are now available through organisations like The Wye and Usk foundation, they have some great water on day ticket.
Regards Steve

Hi Steve,

Yes, I thought it was a good idea having a "Small Streams Section-or-a Thread" specifically for the discussion of topics related to fishing Small Streams! I agree with you! The WUF do great job in making available quite a number of good quality small rivers and streams throughout Wales! But there are still some secret little jewels of water still to be found!

Well, so far it looks like there's just the two of us interested in a "Small Streams Section"

Regards

Mostyn

Yes. A small streams section would be a great idea. But to take it a little further so as no body would feel left out could there be more sections devoted to the different areas of fly fishing..

e.g. 1. Small streams
2. Large rivers
3. Chalk Streams
4. Reservoirs
5. Big Loughs

This way like minded anglers can share knowledge and experience in their own area with out having to search the forum for items of interest to them.

Yup, I agree! That was the idea behind having a small streams section; so that anyone interested in fishing small streams with lightweight tackle, or just to discus fishing small rivers and streams, add some photos, a few reports and stories; all to do with fishing small streams; and all in one section or Thread called : "Small Streams"

One month to go! Then small streams fishing will be back on the menu, for those of us who love fishing them!

Great idea
I Loved fishing the small streams in the past but then for the last few years just concentrating on the Welsh Dee and am keen to fish the smaller rivers of the area again this year as well so this will be invaluable as I have become a little rusty.

I'm in, if you'll have me. My favouite type of fishing, small intimate becks, as we northerners refer to them.
Never see another sole hardly on my local beck, it's like having a private water. If some of the anglers in my club who own it, knew what was to be found lurking in the pools there, It might get busy, so I'll say no more. Luckily most of them prefer big open stretches without trees and high nettle strewn banks to deal with, but to me that all helps to improve the experience.
To spend the last three or four hours on it on a June evening, and catch the evening rise, is a joy to behold, fish or no fish.

Love to join in on this as small streams and rivers are my favorites. Nothing like stalking wild brownies on a small stream. Even if I don't catch anything but trees I'm sure to see lots of wild life and feel that I've escaped civilization!

Take care

Terry
