Default Help. What line do you use?

I have a 2 weigh set up that I use for small streams and I am looking for new line but I am having trouble finding any. All the line that I look at seem to only go down to as light as a 3. I currently have Hardy Premium double taper line on. Can anyone recommend a good fly line in this weigh.

Cheers

Pete

I have two of the #2, weight lines! I use a Hardy Marksman DT #2 (my favourite) also have an SA Mastery GPX. #2, weight and like you I'm on the lookout for a new #2 DT fly line.

RIO, Terenzio Artificial or pure silk, Hardy, Scientific Anglers, I think Greys also do a #2, weight DT fly line? But agree with you! Not that many in #1 and #2, weight fly lines.

I've found Mike Barrio's lines to be very good - I think I've got a 2wt (but it might be a 3wt DT)>

Cortland Sylk is a good line too and available in 2wt DT (I know I've got one of those!)

Mike Barrio does a 2WF GT140, which is a WF but with a head and a continuous rear taper, which are very good. I have a 3wt and it is both accurate and easy to cast but still delicate. As far as I am aware, the 90ft versions simply do not have as long a running line as the 140ft ones.

BARRIO GT140 FLY LINES
Longbelly fly lines …….... with great turnover at distance!

The GT140 series in WF5F to WF9F are 130 ft long and the WF2F to WF4F 90 ft versions are also proving extremely popular, as they give you such great line control in all manner of fishing situations.

Our long, almost continuous rear taper, after the relatively short belly and front taper, produces a line that will load a rod well at short range for "off the tip" casts, yet it allows huge lengths of line to be aerialised under control when distance is required. This design combined with a new high performance coating allows anglers to shoot line from any length that they are comfortable with.

The Barrio GT140 excels at distance and provides a real alternative to other top end distance lines currently on the market, but with one real difference .... it is a superb fishing line!

The GT140 series is available in two colour options, the Barrio GT140 in pale cream and the Barrio GT140S in high-vis orange.

Thank guys I will concentrate my search now. I was getting a little down heartened looking through the 90+ items in the "Fly line" section on the John Norris website to find that nearly all only go down to a 3 /4.
