Default Afon Liedr

Not sure if it is Liedr (as spelt on google maps) or Lledr. Anyway can anybody tell me if there are any day tickets available for trout as i spend a fair amount of time camped next to it in summer. Particularly interested in the stretch between pont-y-pant and fairy glenn. If anybody has fished it please get in touch.

It's 'LLEDR'. Do Google maps really spell it that way? Somebody needs to visit Specsavers.

I fish the Lledr fairly often. The Gwydr Hotel at Betws-y-Coed control the stretch you mention - day tickets are expensive at salmon and sea trout rates. PAAS have fishing further up the river near Dolwyddelan.

That's a shame, as there are some lovely little pockets of water around where I camp and I am sure no self respecting salmon angler would be interested in them. Don't understand why clubs would not offer day tickets for trout fishing only. Don't suppose anybody could point me in the direction of any other becks that I could fish/

Wink Re: Afon LLEDR

Gwydyr left bank Lledr fishing is continuous from Ty'n-y-Cae junction pool up to the Plantation pool about 1/2 ml above the railway bridge you mentioned. However they don't hold all the right bank, which is awkward to get to - you would have to ask around - Penmachno may have some, and as their 'beck' is close by, but doesn't have salmon, should be doubly worth checking out. It used to have nice trout.

Wirral Game have the right bank of the Lledr for most of the first couple of miles up from its confluence with the Conwy, opposite the Gwydyr water, including Ty'n y Cae on the Conwy. It is a very fine salmon beat but needs lots of water on to fish well. It's already yielded four salmon in three hours to one member this season and has yielded six in a day on more than one occasion over the past few years.

Prince Albert have a stretch at Dolwyddelan a bit further up but I'm not sure who else has water or day tickets as none of the clubs offer day tickets but the Gwydyr Hotel does sometimes sell them.

I had been spared to see another spring, and I thank God for it.”
