So, I have decided to try small river and stream fly fishing, it really appeals to me.
I have bought a 7ft rod a reel and other bits to get me started, but I don't know where I can go locally to fish, I live a few miles from Ambergate, Derbyshire.
Does anyone Know where I can go that is fairly local and relatively cheap so I can practice, then when I know what I am doing I will pay for better fishing.

I did a lot of my early dry fly fishing on the Amber but I don't know if you can get on there for free. There is club water on the Derwent:
Matlock,
DRAC,
DCAC. DCAC has waters all over the county but again it isn't free.
Day tickets can be had for the Derbyshire Wye from the
Peacock at Rowsley. Nearer to Ambergate you could try the
Derwent Hotel at Whatstandwell.
If you call in the Fly Fishing Shop in Bakewell sometime and speak to Peter there, he will very likely be able to help you with advice and locations.
